Our most requested interior design styles
During each In-Person Consultation, we go through a design brief with our clients to understand what they like and what they don’t like – we look at colors, patterns, textures, and different interior design styles.
If you’re unsure of which interior design style best suits you, here are some of our clients’ favorite styles:
1. Transitional
By far, Transitional design is our most requested interior design style. Our clients love the clean and bright look and I love how the style mixes classic and timeless pieces with trendier accents.
One of my favorite designers of this style is W Design Collective. The Salt Lake City design studio consistently delivers clean designs with fun features like the pulls on the mudroom cabinets, pictured below.
2. Mid-Century Modern
I can usually tell if our clients will want the Mid-Century Modern style the moment I step into their homes! Music from the Motown era is playing, and there are hints of 60s and 70s influences in their artwork and attire. If our In-Person Consultation takes place over a Motown soundtrack, I know it will be an enjoyable project!
Lindye Galloway Interiors’ take on the Mid-Century Modern style is one of my favorites.
3. Warm Modern
Warm Modern design is growing in popularity with our clients, maybe because of my not-so-subtle recommendations! For me, the warm modern style invokes feelings of comfort and warmth with a clean and visually stunning aesthetic.
Jennifer Robin Interiors masters the style out of our Bay-area design firm.
4. Contemporary
For clients who prefer clean, clutter free, monochromatic spaces, the contemporary style is perfect. We like to incorporate pops of color in artwork and accent pieces, like this design by Australian design firm, Flack Studio.
Bohemian/Global
When our clients request “global” patterns, I show them some images of the Bohemian/Global interior design style.
I love how London-based Studio Ashby highlights the work of Lakin Ogunbanwo with complementary colors and more modern furniture.
