The AFID guide with tips and tricks

1. Shape the tree

Take the time to fluff, tweak and twist every bough until
you are satisfied with the overall shape of the tree.

2. Add lights

Add lights or, for pre-lit trees, make sure lights are functional and adequate. If your tree is pre-lit, but not bright enough,  add more strands of lights as preferred.

Weave lights evenly throughout the tree, working from the inside to the end of the branches.

Always follow manufacturers’ directions when connecting multiple strands.

3. Top the tree

Add your favorite topper – a simple star or angel or a collection of picks and sprays.

4. Loop ribbon

Select ribbon to accentuate your décor or the theme of your tree.

AFID tip – Using two coordinating ribbons works well. Secure the ends of the two ribbons to the top of the tree using floral wire.

5. Hang ornaments

Hang larger ornaments first. Fill in any gaps with smaller ornaments and floral picks.

6. Finish with a tree skirt

Finally, add a tree skirt. Use a traditional skirt or use a faux fur throw, small tablecloth, piece of fabric, quilt or afghan.

From the entire AFID team – we wish you and yours a very, Merry Christmas!
